I’d like to take a brief break from our “regularly scheduled programming” and thank you all for your continued readership. This blog has been a labor of love for me, something I’d been planning long before I put up my first post. And I’m happy to be able to share all this content with you.
There’s been a lot of ups and downs just in these past months, and I’ve certainly learned a lot about blogging. But I feel it’s time to shift gears a bit.
If you’ve been following along, you’ve doubtless noticed that this isn’t a run-of-the-mill health site. Yes, I like to provide lots of actionable tips for nutrition, cooking, and exercise, but I also like to dig a little deeper and approach health from a more holistic perspective. You can learn how to deadlift here, roast a chicken, and improve your body language as well. To me, it’s all the same ball of wax.
The past few months I’ve given you a lot of practical ideas on how to get the most out of a minimal amount of time, energy, and money investment when it comes to health, fitness, and wellness. But I realize that I am lacking the “why,” the foundation upon which we build this whole thing.
The next few weeks’ posts are gonna be a bit “out there” compared to what I’ve published so far, so brace yourself. I’m gonna lay down the whole philosophy behind LMVM, the reasons why I think it’s important to get your health in order, and I’m gonna bring out the big guns, pulling in a lot of stuff I’ve learned over the years from fields as vast as biology and psychology.
If you’ve been enjoying everything so far, don’t worry! I have plenty of awesome practical advice to lay down in the near future, but I feel like I need to take a while to let you all know why this stuff is so damned important in the first place. Enjoy!
P.S. – Here’s a sneak peek of the things I’m going to cover:
- “The Core Four” Reasons Why Every Guy NEEDS to Be Healthy

- Why You Shouldn’t Become an Athlete

Darrin,
The “why” is usually the most important piece of the puzzle. How else would we remain motivated long enough to achieve results? Looking forward to reading some of the future posts.
Alykhan
Thanks Alykhan,
Honestly, I’m worried I’m gonna weird a lot of people out who have gotten used to things here so far. But like you said, this stuff is uber important and can’t get left behind. I’m really excited cuz in the long run this is going to form the foundation of the whole philosophy of this site and help keep it focused on target.
Excellent post – its exactly like building a house you need a Design or a Plan from there you break it down in parts so you can build the house
Look forward to your “house plans”
Darren,
Looking forward to the continued great tips. I think we share a lot of the same philosophy but each have a unique perspective as well. Keep up the good work!
Dave
@Dave:
Thanks buddy, I feel the same way. When people have the same objective but differing theories on how to get there – well, that’s when lots of learning happens!
